My immediate reaction upon hearing the first few notes of the clarinet trio disc was: more ever so-beguiling sound from Tacet. Soon it was clear that Tacet had also come up with another sterling ensemble (...) Zemlinsky's Trio gets far and away it's most convincing recording, and there have been many. (...) the result is like having a new piece in the repertoire. (...) the Brahms performance, too, is a winner, (...) Could the tiny German label Tacet be putting a lock on my 1999 want list? (Fanfare) "The highly apt motto "In Brahms' Shadow" is overshadowed itself when you hear this CD by a high-ranking ensemble performance which puts all the three trios into the right light."
