Italian organist and composer Marco Enrico Bossi (1861-1925) was born into a family of musicians. His father was organist at Salo Cathedral. He studied at the Liceo Musicale in Bologna and the Milan Conservatory before becoming director of music and organist at Como Cathedral. Later, he became the professor of organ and harmony at Naples Conservatory. He wrote more than 150 works for various genres, most of which remain largely unknown, except for his organ works. Organist Marco Ruggeri performs the works on the present release on an illustrious Lingiardi organ which resides in the Reggio Emilia province.
